My other half's arrived in our bank account yesterday. It went straight into the account we had used for last year's tax returns. The comment on the deposit was "ATO TAX BONUS".
My wife and I got both ours last Friday. They were deposits into the bank account last used for Tax returns.
We got the back to school bonus a month or so ago. Haven't seen the other one yet, although ours will quite literally come as a cheque in the mail, as that's how our tax refund comes (I think the accountant likes to hold them ransom until you pay)
Hi all,
It's great to see you all are starting to see it come through. That's reassuring. I was starting to wonder if there was a glitch in the ATO system.
yep got ours yesterday in addition to the $948 we got for the Family allowance.
It read: DEPOSIT-FAMILY ALLOWANCE AUS GOV FAMILIES $948 DEPOSIT ATO TAX BONUS ATO $900 x 2 nice
I believe they are being deposited according to postcodes so it would be interesting to know the codes of those people who have received them already
I haven't received mine yet, i'm in Perth and wondered if that was the reason, since we are so far away LOL??? Anyone who has got their's, are you from WA??? Im in desperate need of mine aaargh
Hi all,
I'm informed by a few people that they are using the dates of when people completed their 07-08 personal tax returns to determine the 'order'. This would explain why my own hasn't arrived, as we undertook our return in September 08 (when we also completed our business tax returns).
I have not received mine yet. Site says only 4 days to go. My husband has and we are both postcode 6027 - this is not listed on the postcode distribution list. Amazing how two people living at the same address can receive one while the other still waiting.
Lorraine
I don't think that is the case, as we completed our tax return on the last day.
I know of other people at my office who completed their tax return ahead of me and they haven't received their stimulus package yet.
i think we need a post of all the postcodes that have already got theirs so us people who havent got it can see if we are closer
if you go to: www.blowmy900.info the guy has listed all 'reported' postcodes that have been paid.
he can only go by what people tell him though, so there could be more he doesn't know about. hope this helps!
Just to let you know recieved mine .. postcode 2220
My partner and i can finally move out now!! Thnx K-rudd Even if the thought of being stimulated by an old manis gross!! XD
I'm a self funded retiree who works part time. I haven't received mine yet. I'm beginning to wonder if retirees are not eligible.
You may get it being a part time worker who's completed last year's Tax return.
Generally however, self funded retirees are the ones that have missed out. They didn't get the 'pension bonus' and missed these rounds of handouts.
Good things come to them that wait.
We just got our $900 payment (2 x $900) from the ATO. FYI: Our postcode is 3331. Hopefully those still waiting are not far around the corner.
4121 - Still haven't seen mine. Friends have tho. My partner has received the family payment.
Haven't recieved any payment here yet 2800, however my friends have......very random.
I have not received my $900 yet. Cant be based on post codes as i live in a share house in Sydney and everyone in the house has got their payments already. They received the payments on different days, think its just totall random.
I'm in perth WA, and i have not recieved anything, going into may now 3/5
i still havnt recieved my stimulation from rudds package i got my tax return in my account so im expecting the same.
Well, im a bit bummed cause i wont be receiving this Tax Bonus, even though i need it sooo bad...yeah i got a full tax refund last year, but its not the point. I earnt over the threshold of $6,000 so i think im entitled to it! im a low income earner who has a life and things to pay for...like bills and rent..im not gonna blow it like some people out there, so i think i deserve it..and need it..
Hi Danielle,
Yes I agree. It seems those that got a full tax refund last year are indeed missing out. As such it's missing the people that need the money the most. I hope that the government address the issue, as it does seem a little tardy and unfair. Have you received any other bonus previously?
Matt.
No i have NEVER received any type of goverment bonus. It sucks. Are you getting the Bonus?
Yes, I got the bonus.
Man that sucks that you got no type of government bonus. So you didn't qualify for any of the 4 above? Let's hope there is something in the budget for low-income earners. It's these people that could do with the outstretched hand more than anyone at present.
i still havent recieved my $900
yet evryone in my house has!!! why do you think that is?
I rang the ATO and yes it's confirmed, if you recieved a full tax refund last year you will not be receiving this stimulus, very unfair.
Today is the 15th, last day to get it it and neither myself or my partner has received anything. Should be getting it into our bank accounts so I'm a bit worried that we will miss out. I rang the ATO some time ago and they said I was eligible, so I don't know whether its just delayed or not. Anybody else know if May 16th is definitely the last payment date?
Is anyone else having trouble contacting the ATO on 1300 686 636? Every time we call it is engaged and has been all day. Makes it difficult when you have to hike 15 mins to a phone box just to try to call.
My partner is eligible for the bonus as a working australian however has not received it. Other than if you got a full refund, why else would you not receive it?
I would say it's overloaded at present.
Payments appear to still be going out. Ensure you have got your tax return in for the 2007/2008 financial year. Hang in -- it should be coming!
I would like to start off with saying what a joke this is and do not appreciate the way I am being treated. I am an Australian BORN citizen but don’t seem to be treated like one , it seems that if I was born in another country and migrated here that I would be treated a lot better then I currently am. The fact that I study and have to work part time to live with no help from the government what so ever is a load of crap while people who stay home because they cant be bothered working get paid for it. If were to sit at home and collect the dole I would be better off instead of trying to be a member of the working class. What sort of society are you portraying when the average bum is better off then someone who is trying to get ahead in life. The main reason for this email is say what a disgrace it is I am not receiving the $900 stimulus package even though I have payed taxes but only made $9000, don’t you think that people in my situation need the stimulus more than most people that have received it, i would love to hear your side of this story so I will be awaiting your reply
Firstly, I'm just an Australian born citizen as well.
I don't represent the ATO nor the government. I do however feel for those of you who have paid taxes, yet haven't received the stimulus package. I suspect why you haven't received any payment is due to the fact you have would of received all your tax back when completing your tax return. Personally, I think it would of been a much better idea to hand $200 to each person with a Medicare card. (It's then unbiased -- and evenly distributed). My own parents worked all their life, then became self-funded retirees. They watched as half their life savings got wiped out due to the GFC. They didn't receive the financial stimulus package. They aren't on a pension -- so they didn't get the earlier payment either. It's not uncommon to study and work part time to fund it. (Most Uni students do -- I know my wife did just that). Do you receive any form of study payment from the government? (ie: Austudy?)
its the 25/5 and still havent got mine, who do i call about not recieving the package
I haven't receieved my stimulus package - my accountant has it and ATO won't do anything about it. My accountant who are taxreturnsaustralia.com are scheming the system. It's a long story and by the time I do get it, I'd have earned it. Where else can I go to get them to pay my stimulus package? Or should I wait for them to steal your tax returns and pay my money?.... schemers they are.... do not go through TAXRETURNSAUSTRALIA.COM.AU
i got mine! and spent it already!
Ive used tax returns australia for the past 4 years and found it to be really easy! I'd much rather do it myself than pay hundreds for an accountant to do it!
I also am still waiting for my stimulus payment from Tax Returns Australia, the ATO paid it to them April 15th and I STILL have not received it after 7 phone calls assuring me it would be paid 'within a few days' each time. DO NOT USE TAX RETURNS AUSTRALIA.
Those who have used Tax Returns Australia...
If you have problems, see your state ombudsmen. In addition contact the ACCC if you have an ongoing issue.
I have been waiting for my tax bonus payment from Tax Returns Australia since 21st april 2009 and it has now been over 3 months. I have made countless unsuccessful phone calls and emails to them in an attempt to resolve this issue and yet they have failed to credit my account. The Australian Tax Office had started 3 escalations against them requesting that they return this payment to the ATO but also had no result! I am waiting to hear back from the Australian Governments Tax Agent's Board in regards to my Complaint Against a Registered Tax Agent. I have also received legal advice in regards to debt recovery in which I intend to issue them with a Statement of Claim to be heard in a local court. I intend to exhaust every avenue possible to end this ordeal once and for all. Shall keep you posted!
This is disappointing.
I do hope you are successful chasing up your return. Looking closely at the logs it would appear the user 'samuel' actually works for Tax Returns Australia. It's clear that there is some issues with Tax Returns Australia and I would caution people when dealing with them. An official statement from Tax Returns Australia on the numerous unpaid returns would be greatly sought.
Tax Returns Australia. I used them with ease and pleasure for the last 5 or so years. Except this time. I lodged with them and waited.. and waited... and waited... I sent them over 40 emails, called all their offices (they have a lot all operating from Boronia in the same building all claiming ignorance).
I believe they lied to me that they had lodged my return by the due date for teh stimulus package. And they never once returned any further correspondence. It is now Sept 09 and i just got my return back. No stimulus package though. NEVER USE THEM AGAIN! |
